And The Momentum Builds As The Magic Continues
Mon Nov 14, 2005 at 11:47:14 AM PDT
Special Election Dec. 6th.
Steve Young for Congress - Ca. 48th Congressional District
Magic comes from the most unlikely places and when you least expect it.

We had another parade in Tustin, Ca. this time for Veterans Day. After the last time I was more than a little worried that we couldn't repeat the feeling and energy we reached during the Tustin Tiller Days Parade in Oct.
If we couldn't repeat the atmosphere then how could I possibly write a diary on our day and feel good about it? I have to admit I was worried.
I shouldn't have been. The defining moment came along the route when a crescendo of applause erupted when the crowd saw the car with "Steve Young" signs. I was taken back by its intensity and stopped in my tracks momentarily to take it in. I still get goose bumps as I write this!

11,000,000 Terrorists Created By Bush
Sat Oct 22, 2005 at 11:33:47 PM PDT
[Update] Sun Oct 23, 2005 03:00 Changed the title to emphasize the bigger issue.
One of the arguments many people still insist on using to justify staying in Iraq is that most Iraqis want freedom and want us to stay.
Any rational person knows this can't be true now even if there was a brief period several years ago when it was true. With the lack of facts to support our contention we've had to resort to arguments weighing costs vs benefit at this stage of the war.
As recent as today Armando quite eloquently jumps all over George Parker's defense of the correctness of the war. As brilliant as Armando's reasoning and logic is he still had to resort to something other than facts.
Well, now we don't have to cajole, out-flank or convince war supporters any longer; we can simply rely on facts and shout "I cry BULLSHIT"

After reading this diary some will wonder why I haven't added Howard Dean but I just can't make myself do it. He's my hero and I think he has a muzzle on and he's taken on the role of team player and organizational leader rather than the inspirational leader he really is.
Okay, I'll admit that all you major dKos leaders are my heros but I'm still calling you out.
What I really want to do is fire a couple of shots over the bow of this community.
I'm struggling for what "A 50-State Strategy" means. I look down the front page and see diaries on baseball, bird flu, cell phones on airplanes, Jesus, Miers, 2006 Senate races and the DCCC.
Then I look down the Recs and see more Miers and several on the Republican/Bush melt down, the environment and Fox/O'Reilly.
I'm not denying the importance of any of these and I certainly am interested in the baseball because I'm a White Sox fan. My brothers were Cub fans and I had to be different. Now I root for both.
Where is the challenge? Read below
WOW! We've got a keeper! Please Help.

I know it's late on the East coast but I just couldn't wait. I hope you'll all help out here.
I've just had a goose-bump morning and afternoon with a candidate for heavily-Republican California 48th Congressional District seat left vacant when Christopher Cox left for the SEC.
His name is Steve Young and even if you don't know the name you'll think you do.
Read below and I'll be back tomorrow after Steve speaks at the Irvine AME church. Be back that is if this stays alive long enough. No, I'll be back even if I have to post another diary.
More BushCo Lies and Deceit Coming?
Fri Sep 09, 2005 at 09:00:56 PM PDT
We all still live in the reality world so when the Mayor of NOLA says something we believe that he's got a good feel for reality.
Mayor Ray Nagin suggested last weekend that "it wouldn't be unreasonable to have 10,000" dead, and authorities ordered 25,000 body bags.
Now, soldiers - not National Guard - come in to retrieve the dead. They are not controlled by local governments and we hadn't even thought that BushCo would try anything now.
Surprise, surprise. They're at it again.
Here's the link but here's a key passage. Follow me below.
Lies or just plain cluless?
Fri Sep 02, 2005 at 04:58:09 PM PDT
We all know that for Republican/Right Wing wackos it's often difficult to know
if they are lying or fucking stupid I suspect it's both.
Read them all; it's worth it.
In either case we certainly don't want these people running our government, do we?
Read below the fold the things they're expecting us to swallow now.
STAYING THE COURSE Fantasyland
Wed Aug 24, 2005 at 09:28:50 PM PDT
Maybe I'm missing something but only seriously mis-guided thinking would produce the idea that we should stay in Iraq to finish the mission.
Armando has been doing a great job of highlighting the get-out-of-Iraq movement. I'd like to add to his voice but from a different perspective.
Roe vs Wade Upheld but questions remain.
Wed Feb 23, 2005 at 07:05:01 AM PDT
I apologize for a questionable diary entry but I haven't seen this question addressed and I'm suspecious of this since it's at the heart of the neocons agenda.
Who else has wondered about Norma McCorvey's conversion from landmark advocate of the right to choose for a woman in Roe vs Wade to anti-choice in McCorvey vs Hill?
In case anyone has forgotten Norma is famous for bringing the case to the Supreme Court which established the right to choose and abortion.
She is also the same woman who then wanted to reverse that case which was turned down yesterday by the Supreme Court - a good thing.
Given the Right's penchant for paying people to advocate their positions I wonder if they got to her.
Are there any Kossacks out there who've looked into Norma's finances for an obvious increase in her situation?
What's the history of her conversion? Who is she now connected with? What attorney's represented her and financed the case through the system? It's not cheap and I wonder where she came up with the resources to be able to pursue this for this long.
Absense of critical thinking in the Eason Jordan affair
Sun Feb 13, 2005 at 03:38:37 PM PDT
My first diary even if it's not my first comment. I just couldn't stand it any more after reading Joe Scareborough rant.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6947897/
Go ahead, let 'er rip. I can take it.
The meat of my diary:
Here's what's really stupid about the whole affair: no one is questioning the assertion that Jordan was defaming our fine American troops by saying they were targeting journalist.
How is that any different than saying American soldiers shot into crowds of civilians? How is that any different than saying American soldiers shot at people walking through the streets? How is that any different than saying Falluhjah was destroyed and innocent civilians were randomly killed in attacks by American soldiers?
